The design of the box light merges the construction and graphics of a cardboard box with the black powder coated language of barn door studio lighting, Ideas of trying to contain light, and the notion of looking inside a box to discover what is inside are combined by the use of a one-way mirror, which creates the illusion of a double open-ended bottomless box when turned off.
